Intermediate Ballet

The Intermediate Level brings many new opportunities and challenges.

Placement in this division is with the approval of the school directors.

Intermediate Ballet Class Schedule

Mondays 5:45-7:15 AND Thursday 6:00-7:30

Pointe Conditioning  Sat 11:00-11:30**

Pointe/Pre-Pointe   Sat  11:30-1:00**

Breath & Balance Yoga  Saturday 10:00-11:00am (optional)

**ALL Intermediate Dancers, STRONGLY suggest you take these classes!!

 

ATTIRE for Intermediates:  Black Leotard, Pink Tights.  *Leg warmers/skirts etc with permission from Teacher.

Intermediate RUBY :  This is a transition level from the Elementary class and will take more than a year to complete. Dancers at this Level are required to take a minimum of  2   hour and a half classes per week and depending upon their level of commitment …students have the option of adding 1 or 2 additional classes plus the pre pointe/pointe class.

LOTS to do!  We will be focusing on  secure and stable turns, ability to hold turn out, and building strong Core muscles to support future pointe work. Dancers will be comfortable with terminology and aware of body positions, and able to start handling memorization of a string of combinations during barre, center, petite allegro, and big jumps.

Continuing Intermediate  : This is an OPEN level class which means that it is very individualized.

This is the perfect level for dancers who are serious about their training. This class will move at a much quicker pace, offering more complex combinations both at the barre and in the center. Dancers will be exposed to more advanced and diverse exercises, challenging them to elevate their level of training while still maintaining a strong focus on their core ballet technique. At this level dancers should begin to explore and develop their artistry and musicality.

Pointe Conditioning: A 30 minute class specially designed to build strength, flexibility and control in your legs, ankles, and feet to meet the challenge of POINTE shoes. This class will also focus on the stabilizing muscles in your core & turnout. This class will help with ALL types of dancing, pointe included!

Pointe/ Pre-Pointe: This class is for dancers Intermediate & Up who are working on their pointe training.  This class may be taken in soft shoes if you do not have your pointe shoes, or en pointe if your are en pointe and wish to strengthen your pointe technique.  Pointe work is done by permission of instructor.

Breath & Balance Yoga: Yoga is an optional class that is the perfect combination of restorative stillness and dynamic movement. Start your Saturday slowly with gentle stretches to break up the sleep in your body, then move into an invigorating yoga flow that cultivates balance and strength. This practice relieves stress and tension by connecting breath with mindful movements that encourage the body to open and create more flexibility. A wonderful class for dancers and non-dancers alike!  Suggested props to bring: mat, 2 blocks (not required)
