Summer Schedule

We are very happy to announce a 2024 Summer Schedule!!!
We have lots of fun things planned!

Dancers who enroll before May 15th will have the opportunity to purchase a limited edition Civic Ballet of Chattanooga T-Shirt.

For Rising Kindergarteners & First Graders:

Children’s Mini Camps:  These special 3 day a week camps are for rising kindergarten and 1st graders. These mini camps will feature creative movement in a variety of styles and genres. Students will begin to learn dance terminology, positions of the feet and arms, musical counts, and basic patterns – no previous dance experience required. This class will help children appreciate the joy of movement, gain music awareness and rhythm skills, explore dance as a form of personal expression, and nurture artistry with challenging creative dance experiences.  2024 themes are “Lion King” & “Under the Sea”!  (45 minutes, Monday, Wednesday Friday) {Maggie Daniel} More

For Rising 2nd through 4th graders: TWO very special dance camps

Regardless of whether rising 2nd through 4th grader is a new or experienced dancer, they will love our summer camps! Within this week-long camp, campers will learn all about a classic story ballet AND how to move and dance within the styles of ballet and musical theatre….no dance experience required!  Students will craft each day, and they will receive a Massari-Wood T-shirt that they will color and take home at the end of each week. They will also have a free performance opportunity at the end of each week! No previous experience required! Come to one, or both summer camps! (3 hours, Monday – Friday) {Amanda West} More

For Rising 5th graders to adults:

Summer is a GREAT time for growth in dance, and we have a TROVE of classes available. The mention of summer break may bring to mind images of rest and relaxation, but …taking the summer off from dancing may not be such a great idea. While even a couple of weeks without stretching can result in a loss of flexibility, several weeks away from the studio may cause you to lose strength and technique. Dancers are encouraged to attend all classes at or below their level.  This is a GREAT opportunity to refine & improve technique. More

For Rising 9th graders to adults:

Partnering skills are very important as dancers advance in their training.  Once dancers have demonstrated a proficiency in ballet technique & strength, they can begin their study of Pas de Deux.  We are very excited to offer two partnering workshops this summer: Introduction to Pas de Deux, & Pas de Deux!   Placement is with permission of instructor. (1.5 hour technique class + 1 hour pas de deux, 3 Saturdays) {Joe Lynch} More
