Summer Series – Pas de Deux
Partnering skills are very important as dancers advance in their training. Once dancers have demonstrated a proficiency in ballet technique & strength, they can begin their study of Pas de Deux. We are very excited to offer two partnering workshops this summer: Partnering 101, & Pas de Deux! Each Workshop runs for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and classes build on the lessons taught in the previous week. Placement is with permission of instructor, and all participants are expected to take the preceding technique class.
Summer Series: Partnering 101 Saturdays July 13th, 20th, & 27th, 1:00-2:00pm $75.00
Dancers will learn principals of weight sharing, and guided movements. Dancers will learn both sides of partnering in order to better understand the technical requirements and roles of each dancer in the partnership. Special attention will be paid to good communication and etiquette. May be taken in soft shoes, or pointe shoes (with permission of instructor). Placement is with permission of instructor, and all participants are expected to take the preceding technique class from 11:30am – 1:00pm. {Joe Lynch}
Summer Series: Pas de Deux Saturdays August 3rd, 10th, & 17th, 1:00-2:00pm $75.00
Dancers with partnering experience will explore the art of pas de deux. Dancers will practice guided movements in various positions and grips, including several types of turns. Principals of weight sharing will be put into use in the form of lifts and both stationary & traveling jumps. May be taken in soft shoes, or pointe shoes (with permission of instructor). Placement is with permission of instructor, and all participants are expected to take the preceding technique class from 11:30am – 1:00pm. {Joe Lynch}
